Ol Seki Mara Camp was opened in July 2005 by Sue Allan and her son and daughter in law, Jan and Erin. Jan has specialised in environmentally friendly building in Kenya for 8 years and has added his signature touch to the uniquely spacious and contemporary design of the camp.
In June 2008, Sue sold Ol Seki to the Giovando family. Nico Giovando, born in Nyeri, holds Kenya close to his heart, and having been abroad for a few years, returned to the coastal town of Diani Beach to put together Almanara Luxury Resort (http://www.almanararesort.com) Looking to add a camp to the resort, the offer of Ol Seki was one that could not be turned down.
Since the changeover Nico has brought in his sister Cathy Giovando. Cathy has been in Kenya all her life, and with her husband Bruno M. Amadei, opened Kimana lodge in the early 70s. She then opened a hugely successful restaurant on Diani Beach, before returning to her self confessed “favourite place on earth” the Maasai Mara. She now manages the camp with her son Kiko. Their shared passion for Africa and vibrant personas provide guests with a warm and knowledgeable host team.
